Mr. Abid Saqi, President, Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Nihang, Vice President, Mr. M. Baleegh Uz Zaman Ch., Secretary and Mr. Usman Sher Gondal, Finance Secretary of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore in a joint statement endorsed the resolution unanimously passed by the Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Quetta against nomination of disputed lawyers for elevation as additional Judges of Balochistan High Court and Islamabad High Court on Balochistan quota. 

The Office Bearers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association said that the demands of Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Quetta were genuine and based on legitimate demands. They further said that rules framed by the judicial commission whereby majority decision of the members of Judicial Commission were upheld is against the legislative provision contained in Art.175-A of Constitution of Pakistan. That the recent appointments made in the province of Punjab is also clear violation of the above said provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan. They further said that the rules framed by the judicial commission be amended and consensus based decision be taken in the Judicial Commission in future within the spirit of Constitutional provisions. They further strongly demanded that the concerned quarters must redress the grievances of Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Quetta, within the true spirit of the Constitutional Provisions and the demands of lawyers community of Balochistan should be honoured.

FLAG-HOISTING CEREMONY AT LAHORE HIGH COURT BAR ASSOCIATION - Tuesday, August 13, 2013
The Lahore High Court Bar Association, Lahore has arranged a colour hosting ceremony on 14th August 2013 (Wednesday) at 8:55 a.m. on the happy occasion of “Independence Day”. The ceremony will be followed by “Breakfast”. All members of the Bar are cordially invited to grace the occasion and oblige.
